I love shopping. Sometimes I can find it disheartening due to the weirdness of my body shape, and although I am guaranteed to consider cosmetic and or plastic surgery on every shopping trip I go on, I still love it. The reason I love it is because I know what I like, I know who I am and I know my style. There is absolutely no confusion about what is a good and a bad outfit. I would describe my taste as Edwardian-tomboy-retro, I like a bit of a lace top, very rarely wear skirts or heels and I mostly don't follow high street fashion. In actual fact if I could re-visit any era I would love to bring back the 1920's and all those glorious sassy hats!
I am the kind of person that doesn't need anything in particular for my wardrobe, I'm very easy going in terms of making an outfit work for any occasion (that might have something to do with the fact that I rarely go out) until I see something I love - then I need it. A lot. I do stop to ask myself if I need it and the answer is always the same... big yes, you've earned it - buy it! Luckily I have a husband that also thinks that and knows that tops just make me happy.
Shoes however are a different kettle of fish. Shoe shopping is... urgh! The reason I have so many bags is because my feet are so small. This is where the surgery aspect of the shopping experience comes into play. SIZE 2! My niece was size 2 when she was 10! Shoe shops don't like my feet and in return I don't like shoe shops. I was forced once into buying a sexy pair of Karen Millen heels because the woman in the shop said they were small fitting for a 3...three sets of insoles later I realised she was lying and probably on commission. She saw me fall in love with them and took advantage of me.
So my motto is, if you like it get it - you deserve it! SHOP NOW!
